Tithing at the ASU Newman Center
Your generosity turns college students into missionary disciples.
Everything we do at the All Saints Catholic Newman Center is made possible through God's grace and the faithful support of our community. Your tithe helps us offer the sacraments, Bible studies, retreats, and a spiritual home for students, faculty, alumni, and friends of ASU.
What Is Tithing?
Tithing is the prayerful practice of returning a portion of what God has given us back to Him through His Church. Traditionally, this means giving ten percent of your income. But the heart of tithing is not the exact percentage. It is about making a regular, sacrificial gift according to your circumstances and state in life.
At a university parish like ours, many students cannot yet give a full ten percent. But everyone can begin with a consistent gift and grow in generosity over time. A small, faithful monthly tithe from many people has a large impact on campus ministry.
Why Your Tithe Matters Here
Your tithe directly supports:
- Daily and Sunday Masses, confessions, and Eucharistic adoration on campus.
- Campus outreach, retreats, Bible studies, and faith formation that help students encounter Christ.
- Spiritual direction and pastoral care from our priests and campus ministry team.
- Building operations that keep our chapel, student spaces, and grounds open and welcoming.
Every gift, at every level, strengthens Catholic life at ASU. Your support helps us form young Catholics who will go out and transform the world for Christ.
How to Start Tithing
The most important step is to begin.
Pray first. Ask the Lord how He is calling you to give. Listen for His voice. He may be inviting you to trust Him in a new way.
Then commit. Decide on a percentage or a specific monthly amount, even if it is small. Set up a recurring gift using the giving form on this page. As your income and circumstances change, you can revisit and gradually increase your tithe.
Consistency matters more than the amount. Faithfulness in small things leads to growth in generosity.

A Spiritual Act of Trust
Tithing is more than a financial decision. It is a spiritual act of trust and worship. When we give the "first fruits" of our income to God, we acknowledge that everything we have is a gift from Him. We declare that we depend on Him for all things, not on our own resources.
The Catechism reminds us that "the faithful also have the duty of providing for the material needs of the Church, each according to his own abilities" (CCC 222). This is not a burden. It is a privilege. We get to participate in God's work on campus.
Thank you for prayerfully considering a tithe to the All Saints Catholic Newman Center. Your generosity forms missionary disciples at Arizona State University today and for generations to come. May God bless you abundantly for your faithfulness.
