Bring the Universal Church to Life for International Students

ASU's international students are far from home, navigating a new culture, language, and campus life. Your gift creates welcoming communities where they can find belonging, celebrate their heritage, and encounter Christ.

Why International Student Ministry Matters

International students face unique challenges: cultural adjustment, language barriers, homesickness, and the search for authentic community. In the midst of so much change, the Catholic Church offers something beautifully familiar. The same Mass, the same sacraments, the same Christ they knew at home.

Our international student ministries create spiritual homes where students can be fully themselves, celebrate their cultures, and grow in faith. Through India@ASUCatholic, Latino@ASUCatholic, and Africa@ASUCatholic, students discover they're never far from their Church home.

Our International Student Organizations

India@ASUCatholic brings together students from India and the Indian subcontinent for India Night, where they connect with their heritage through fellowship, prayer, and cultural celebration in ways that honor their traditions and our mutual Catholic faith.

Latino@ASUCatholic creates space for Latino students to embrace their cultural identity through Latino Night, Spanish-language worship, and celebrations where their faith and culture are deeply intertwined.

Africa@ASUCatholic welcomes students from across the African continent for Africa Night, celebrating the rich diversity of African Catholic traditions and building friendships rooted in shared experiences.

Each ministry meets at least monthly, and hosts semester social events where all Newman students are invited to experience the beautiful diversity of the universal Church through food, stories, music, and traditions.

What Your Gift Provides

Your donation helps offset the cost of monthly gatherings and social events. We keep costs minimal for students, but providing meals, hosting cultural celebrations, and creating meaningful experiences requires support. Your generosity ensures financial barriers never prevent international students from finding welcome and belonging.

Your gift supports:

  • Monthly cultural night gatherings with meals
  • Semester social events open to all
  • Leadership development
  • Spiritual direction and pastoral care

Bridge Cultures, Strengthen Faith

In a new country with unfamiliar customs, the ASU Newman Center becomes an anchor of familiarity and comfort. When you invest in international student ministry, you're helping young people from around the world encounter Christ in ways that honor who they are and where they come from.

Will you help welcome an international student into the Newman community today?
