It is regularly said that Arizona State University is the “largest Catholic university in the U.S.” More than 15,000 Catholic students attend classes on the Tempe campus. Since 1932, the Newman Center has been a part of daily campus life. Besides having daily and weekend Masses, we have a thriving campus ministry program that ministers to every student on campus.

Catholics and non-Catholics alike.

The 2020 Newman Center Annual Dinner will be in support of Campus ministry. All proceeds from the evening will go directly to our campus ministry efforts. Our annual dinner is about bringing our community and supporters of the ASU Catholic Newman Center together to show their support for our mission.

At this year’s dinner we are recognizing our 2020 Distinguished ASU Alumnus, Sister Lynn Winsor, BVM ‘65. Sr. Lynn has had a 46-year career at Xavier College Preparatory High School where she is currently the school’s vice-principal and athletic director. She has not only been recognized for her leadership in education, she has coached the Xavier Women’s Golf team to a national record of 36 state championships. In addition, Sr. Lynn has been an active ASU alumnus, including, the past chairwoman of the ASU Alumni Association.
