Be a part of our first ever Breakfast in support of the ASU Newman Center. Join Us for Inspiring Stories of Faith, Perseverance and Service from ASU baseball alum Cory Hahn and the voice of Sun Devil Athletics, Tim Healey and hear from Eden Higgins, a member of the ASU Alumni Association National Council.

We are encouraging everyone to bring guests to this year’s breakfast. We want to introduce, or re-introduce, as many people as possible to the ASU Newman Center.

Cory Hahn

Arizona Diamondbacks

Cory Hahn is a former ASU baseball player who had his career abruptly ended in 2011 in only his third game as a Sun Devil. While sliding headfirst into second base, Cory critically injured his spinal cord and was paralyzed from the chest down

A standout athlete at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA, Hahn earned numerous accolades, including California's Mr. Baseball, First Team All-American and he represented the United States on the 18U Team USA.

The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted him in the 34th round of the 2013 MLB Draft, acknowledging his courage and inspiring story. For the last 10 years Cory has been an integral part of the club’s baseball operations as one of two assistant directors of player personnel.

Beyond his professional career, Hahn is a dedicated philanthropist. He and his former ASU teammate, Trevor Williams of the Washington Nationals, co-founded Project 34, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for people with spinal cord injuries. Over his career he has received many awards and accolades including in 2024, Trailblazer of the Year by Baseball America for his unwavering commitment to positively impact those around him.

Tim Healey

“The Voice of Sun Devils Athletics”

Tim is synonymous with ASU Athletics. He called his very first ASU football game in 1988. Since 1998, he has been the full-time voice of Sun Devil Athletics. He serves as the primary play-by-play announcer for ASU football, men's basketball, and baseball games.

Tim began his broadcasting career in 1973 after graduating from Penn State University. His passionate and engaging commentary has made him a beloved figure among Sun Devil fans. He and his wife Margie are fixtures at the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass at the ASU Newman Center where Tim is also a regular lector.

Eden Higgins

Eden is a 1987 graduate of ASU, and is a current member of the ASU Alumni Association National Alumni Council, where she serves as an ambassador for the university and an advocate for the Alumni Association.

She has over two decades of experience in the recruiting industry, Eden currently leads Top Search Recruiting, a talent recruitment firm specializing in the renewable energy sector. 

She and her husband, Patrick, are both alumni of Arizona State University. While undergrads, their first dates were at the ASU Newman Center. Two of their three children currently attend ASU, Shannan is in her final year at the Sandra Day O’Connor Law School and Ellie is a junior studying Astrophysics.

Eden also finds time to coach the long distance Track and Cross Country teams at Xavier College Preparatory High School in Phoenix.

There is no cost to attend. Proceeds from this event will go to support the Campus Ministry programs at the ASU Newman Center.
