Sacred Music at All Saints Newman Center

Sacred music glorifies God, brings beauty to the liturgy, and elevates the hearts and minds of the faithful in profound reverence and prayer before our Lord. Our mission is to make sacred music accessible to students, encourage students to delve into the musical tradition of the Church, beautify the liturgy, and, above all, to glorify God and sanctify the faithful by the gift of our voices and talents.

Choir of Saint John

The Choir of Saint John is a coed choir, primarily focusing on elevating the liturgy through sacred music. This choir practices on Mondays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and sings at the 4:00 pm Sunday High Mass. While some prior musical experience is helpful, students of all skill levels are welcome.

Men’s Schola of Saint Ephrem

The Men’s Schola of Saint Ephrem is a male vocal ensemble that is focused on teaching sacred music to young men, developing vocal and sight reading abilities, and diving deep into the beautiful and rich music that the Church has to offer. This schola focuses on singing advanced chants, hymnody, and polyphony for special liturgies and services. Members of this schola are also encouraged to sing with the Choir of Saint John at the 4:00 pm on Sundays. Practices are held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm every Tuesday.
